Google Workspace: Meet Live Translation Expands to 63 Languages

Google Meet can now translate spoken conversation between 63 languages in real time, which helps when dealing with overseas clients or multilingual teams.

  • What it is: Gemini-powered speech translation with automatic language detection. Each participant can switch it on for themselves and choose the languages they already understand.
  • Who gets it: Business Standard and Plus, Enterprise Standard and Plus, and Frontline Plus, where the meeting organiser has an eligible plan.
  • Rollout: Rapid Release domains from 22 October 2026. Scheduled Release domains from 2 November 2026.
  • Admin control: It is on by default for eligible editions. Admins can turn it off per organisational unit or group in the Admin console under Gemini settings for Google Meet.
  • Limits: Not available in recordings, live streams or encrypted meetings.

Businesses with privacy or compliance requirements should review the Gemini for Meet setting before the rollout reaches their users. Source: Google Workspace Updates.
