Microsoft is simplifying how Microsoft 365 Apps get updated, merging two separate update channels into one starting with this month's release.

• What it is: From Version 2606 onward, the Semi-Annual Enterprise Channel and Monthly Enterprise Channel are being combined into a single enterprise-focused update channel.
• Who is affected: Businesses using Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise, particularly those on the slower Semi-Annual channel who are used to fewer, less frequent updates.
• The risk: Organisations on the Semi-Annual channel may notice updates arriving more often than they're used to, which can catch IT teams off guard if update testing and rollout schedules aren't adjusted.
• What action is needed: If your business manages update channels centrally through Configuration Manager, Intune, or the Microsoft 365 Apps admin center, check which channel your devices are assigned to and plan for the change.
