Google has expanded its Workspace security alerting to include password resets for all administrator accounts, not just super admins. This change is rolling out from 23 June 2026.

Previously, Workspace only generated an alert when a super administrator's password was reset. Under the updated behaviour, any password reset affecting any admin role in your organisation now triggers a security alert in the Admin console.

• What it is: A security monitoring improvement — Workspace now automatically alerts when any admin account password is changed, not only the top-level super admin.
• Who is affected: All Google Workspace customers across Business and Enterprise editions.
• Why it matters: Admin accounts are high-value targets. Earlier alerting on any admin password reset gives your team faster warning of a potential account compromise or unauthorised change.
• What to do: No configuration is required — the expanded alert activates automatically. We recommend reviewing who receives alert notifications in your Admin console under Reports > Alerts to ensure the right person is notified promptly.
