Google is rolling out automatic meeting recaps in Google Chat. After a Google Meet call where note-taking was on, a summary of decisions and action items is posted to the meeting chat.

• What it is: A recap card in the meeting's Chat space showing the summary, agreed next steps and action items.
• Who gets it: Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Standard, Enterprise Plus and Frontline Plus customers with Gemini for Google Workspace enabled. It is on by default.
• Timing: Rapid Release domains began on 16 October; Scheduled Release domains start on 27 October, with rollout taking up to 15 days.
• Privacy: No recap is posted if the host sends notes to hosts and co-hosts only. Any participant can delete a recap card, and the notes remain in Google Drive.
• Admin control: There is no separate switch. The feature follows your existing "Take notes for me" and Gemini settings.

We recommend that administrators check their Gemini and meeting-notes settings now, so meeting summaries are only shared with the people intended.
