Google has begun rolling out a new set of enterprise security controls for Workspace Studio, its collaboration and agentic tools environment.

• What it is: New granular controls covering identity, data protection, observability and governance within Workspace Studio.
• Who is affected: Google Workspace business and enterprise admins who use, or are considering enabling, Workspace Studio's collaboration and AI features.
• What the risk is: No risk from this change itself. It is a positive update, giving admins more oversight before turning on newer agentic capabilities.
• What to do: If your business uses Workspace Studio, review the new controls in the Admin console before extending access to additional teams.

We recommend reviewing these settings as part of your regular Workspace admin housekeeping rather than leaving the defaults in place.
