Australian Telco: Regional Outages Hit Telstra and NBN

Telstra and NBN are both managing active regional network outages affecting mobile and internet services in parts of the Northern Territory and Queensland.

  • What it is: A Telstra 4G outage is affecting Mutitjulu, Petermann and Yulara (NT 0872), and a separate outage is impacting roughly 1,200 services across Queensland postcodes 4601, 4605, 4608, 4610 and 4615. A third-party network fault is also affecting around 844 NBN services in the Peninsula region of Queensland, across Fibre to the Node, Fibre to the Building, Fibre to the Premises and Enterprise Ethernet connections.
  • Who is affected: Business and residential customers in the affected NT and Queensland postcodes, across Telstra mobile and NBN fixed-line services.
  • What the risk is: Loss of phone, internet and EFTPOS connectivity for affected premises until repairs are completed.
  • What action is needed: If your business is in one of the affected areas, check Telstra's and NBN's outage pages for updates, and have a backup connectivity plan, such as a mobile hotspot, ready for critical operations.

We recommend confirming with affected sites whether services have been restored, and reaching out if you need help setting up backup connectivity.
