Google Calendar has a new sharing option that lets you hand calendar editing to an assistant or colleague without exposing the details of your private meetings.

• What it is: A new permission level, "Make changes (see private events as free/busy)", lets a delegate edit your calendar while private events only ever appear to them as a plain busy block, with no title, guests or notes.
• Who is affected: Any Google Workspace user who shares calendar access with an assistant, manager or colleague, including recurring meeting series.
• Why it matters: Previously, giving someone edit access often meant they could see the full details of every event, including sensitive or personal ones. This closes that gap.
• What to do: Review who currently has edit access to your calendar and switch them to the new restricted permission where full visibility isn't needed.
