Google has expanded an important security alert in Google Workspace. Previously, the built-in alert only triggered when a Super Admin's password was changed. It now covers password resets for all administrator roles within your organisation — a meaningful improvement to default account monitoring.

• What changed: The "Super Admin password reset" alert has been broadened to cover all admin role password resets, not just the top-level super admin account.
• Why it matters: Admin accounts at any level have significant access to your organisation's data, email, and settings. Monitoring password changes across all admin roles gives your team a faster warning if any admin account is compromised or changed without authorisation.
• Where to see it: Alerts appear in the Google Workspace Alert Center. Admins with access to the Alert Center will receive notifications automatically — no configuration changes are needed to benefit from this update.
• Who is affected: All Google Workspace organisations with more than one administrator role.
• What to do: No action is required to receive this protection. We do recommend using this as an opportunity to review who currently holds admin roles in your organisation and confirm the Alert Center is being monitored regularly.
