Google has rolled out several useful updates to Google Workspace this week. None of them require any action, but a couple are worth knowing about, particularly if your team works with shared documents or meeting rooms.

• Sharper video in meeting rooms: Google Meet room hardware running ChromeOS can now send full HD 1080p video, so the picture from your meeting room will look noticeably sharper on large screens at the other end.
• Document approvals in Drive: Google Drive is introducing alignment approvals, a lightweight way for teams to request and record sign-offs on documents. Helpfully, ongoing edits no longer reset approvals already given, which removes a common frustration with review workflows.
• For administrators: The Workspace Policy API can now create, update and delete data loss prevention rules programmatically, making it easier to manage security policies consistently across an organisation.
