Severe weather in Western Australia is causing widespread NBN outages affecting business and residential customers across multiple regions, with no fixed restoration time currently published.
- Affected regions: Lower West, South West, South East Coastal, and Central Wheat Belt regions of Western Australia. Services are offline due to commercial power outages affecting NBN network infrastructure caused by extreme weather conditions.
- Access restrictions: Ongoing health, safety, and environmental risks are preventing field technicians from accessing some sites. NBN is prioritising generator deployments to restore critical infrastructure in areas where safe access is available, and will dispatch technicians progressively as conditions allow.
- Northern Territory: A separate fault with a third-party managed network is also affecting approximately 1,219 services in the Arnhem region of the NT.
- What to do: Contact your internet provider for updates specific to your address. NBN's major outage register is updated in real time at nbnco.com.au/utility/major-significant-local-outages.
If your business in WA or the NT is affected, we recommend having a mobile data contingency in place for critical communications while the outage is being resolved. Contact OzComm if you need assistance.
